We are serious about protecting your privacy

Protecting your privacy when processing your personal data is very important to us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically record the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the websites you actually visit, and the date and duration of your visit. This information is mandatory for the technical transfer of the web pages and the secure server operation. No personalized analysis of the data takes place.
If you send us information via our contact form, this data is stored on our servers as part of the backup process. We will only use your data to process your request. Your data will be treated confidentially. It is not passed on to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data are data that relate to your person. They include your name, address, and e-mail address. You do not have to disclose any personal data in order to be able to visit our website. In some cases, we require your name and address as well as additional information in order to be able to offer you the requested services.
The same applies if you request the delivery of informational material and/or if we answer your questions. We will always point this out to you in these cases. We moreover record only the data you have transmitted automatically or voluntarily.
Whenever you use our services, we usually only record the data that are necessary in order to be able to offer you our service. We may ask you for additional, but voluntary information. Whenever we process personal data, we do this in order to be able to offer you our services or in pursuit of our own commercial goals.

Using the mobile app

In addition to our online range of services, we also may provide you with one (or more) mobile app you can download onto your mobile device. In this process, you are entitled to the rights described herein.
When you download the app, the information necessary for this process is transmitted to the app store, in particular your username, e-mail address, account number, time of download, payment information, and the individual device code. We have no influence on the collection of this data and are not responsible for it. We process this data to the extent necessary for you to download the app onto your device; it is not otherwise stored by us.
When using the app, we collect the following personal data in order to enable the functions of the app:

In addition, the following data may be read from your Meta account or your contacts after a permission request and authorization by the player: picture, name, e-mail, Meta token.
We currently do not use cookies; all session information is handled in a server-client-side token.
The player is or can be presented to other players with one or more of the following information: Nick name or first name / last name (can be defined by the player) Picture or avatar Location (city / ZIP / country)
Within the system, the data is only exchanged with the payment provider(s) and our support system and other necessary parties, which are communicated when required. There are currently no other (not communicated) third parties involved in the settlement process, and no other (not communicated) third parties have dedicated access. However, this may change in the course of the distribution of winnings or other activities. However, these third parties would have a contractual relationship with QUIZDOM.
Additional data with regard to big data / reporting etc. are anonymized and aggregated and therefore have no connection to the individual player anymore.
We use what is known as "Advertising Identifier" (IDFA) for advertising purposes. This is a unique, non-personalized and non-permanent identification number for a particular terminal device provided by iOS. The data thus collected is not associated with other device-related information. We use this IDFA to provide you with personalized advertising and to analyze how you use the app. If you activate "No ad tracking" in your iOS settings under "Privacy" "Advertising", we are restricted to the following actions: measuring your interaction with banner ads by counting the number of times a banner is displayed without receiving a click ("frequency capping"), CTR, counting unique users, as well as security measures to combat fraud, and error recovery. You can delete the IDFA ("Reset Ad-ID") in your device settings at any time; a new IDFA is then created that cannot be merged with the previous data. However, we would like to point out that you may not be able to use all the features of our app if you limit the use of the IDFA.

Security

We have taken technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All of our employees, as well as all the service providers working for us are obligated to comply with the applicable data protection laws.
The user data are stored in an Amazon cloud (AWS) or Microsoft cloud (Azure). This server is able to hide parts of the data based on the region (geo-fencing). We thereby make sure that personal data remain connected to the player's location or EU location.
Whenever we collect and process personal data, these data are encrypted before transmission. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. In this process, our security measures are constantly being improved and our privacy statements are constantly being revised. Please make sure you have the latest version.

Changes to our privacy statements

We reserve the right to amend our privacy statements if this becomes necessary due to new technologies. Please make sure you have the latest version. If there are fundamental changes made to this privacy statement, we will announce this change on our website.

Right to information/cancellation

Please contact us at any time if you want to receive information about which of your personal data we record. You can also withdraw your permission for us to collect and process your personal data at any time. In both cases, please contact us directly.
